From the moment that we checked in until checking out, our week in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area was just perfect! We traveled the last week in August, and since southern schools had opened, there were no crowds. Even the weather co-operated! Diane and Jessica greeted us at check-in, and I felt like I was meeting friends. They had emailed some information prior to arrival. They helped in obtaining some tickets to shows for us, and were just a wealth of information in general, all given in a friendly southern manner. We booked one of the cabins, which was very comfortable and met all our needs. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and a bouquet of flowers from the staff greeted us as we entered the living area. The kitchen is very well stocked for preparing meals. The grocery store is located about 9 miles away. We ate several lunches and dinners on the deck. There is also a gas grill. I did not use the hot tub on the deck, but did swim in the indoor pool a couple of times and relaxed in the hot tub in the spa. While the resort is located several miles from the center of Gatlinburg, the drive there is easy as well as to Pigeon Forge, Dollywood and the Great Smoky Mountain national park. The only possible negative is the noise from the road. The back deck was not too far from it. It really wasn't an issue at all for me. Shortly after checking out, we received a phone call. I had left my umbrella on the counter. Talk about good customer service! I highly recommend this resort and area.
HORRIBLE do not waste your money. Not kept up at all and we got behind a foursome who never offered for us to play through so it took us 3 1/2 hours to play 9 holes. We asked for 1/2 of our money back but they said they could not get into the drawer. Left and went to play Gatlinburg golf course and it is WONDERFUL :)

Recently played here again on our vacation to the Smokies! The course was empty other than the eight of us! But the online price was still $50. We love the layout of this course, even if it was not in the best of shape. They have done a lot of work since we played here last, but there were still some places that really needed attention. The 14th hole is one of my all time favorites!
I'm surprised there aren't better options for golf in the Gatlinburg area. The front 9 is very crowded and flat, kind of squished into the valley. It's not very challenging, but enjoyable for vacation golf. The back 9 is more interesting, with more elevation changes, dog legs, and a couple of blind tee shots. Unfortunately, the course was in terrible condition. There were leaking pipes on a few holes, leaving standing water on the fairway. The greens were either incredibly slow or suffering from bald spots. The tee boxes were almost entirely weeds. Finally, although no fault of the golf course management, there were so many bugs!! The gnats were driving us crazy by the time we finished. The pro shops staff was a bit rude when we arrived. Additionally, the grill was closed and there was no beverage cart, leaving a small selection of chips, candy bars, beer and Gatorade in the pro shop as the only food options. The most frustrating was the pace of play. There were some serious golfers who were just as frustrated as we were, but there were also several golfers in running shorts and flips flops, blaring Ac/Dc from the radios in their carts. It took us an hour to play the first three holes. Luckily my company was good!
